China is encouraging private venture capital firms to make long-term investments in the country's commercial space industry. The government has been promoting such investments for about a decade. Last year alone, around $2.5 billion USD were pumped into various commercial projects. One example is a weather observation satellite company aiming to launch 41 satellites by the end of next year.
