China's coal mining industry is undergoing a significant transformation with the integration of smart technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence. In Shaanxi Province, one of the nation’s over 570 "smart" coal mines employs 31 unmanned mining trucks that transport up to 58,000 tons of coal daily. These advanced vehicles are capable of navigating complex terrains, avoiding obstacles, and ensuring timely deliveries, marking a major shift in the industry's efficiency and safety.
