Japanese appetite grows for Chinese eels

For decades, China has been supplying Japan with a widely popular sea food, eel. According to data from Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the country imports more than 7,000 tons of fresh eels annually, nearly 80 percent of which come from China. There are a variety of eels out there, but those from China’s mainland are known for their soft texture, rich flavour and thin skins.
