Southern Peru Battles Deadly Cold Spell and Drought

As the Northern Hemisphere grapples with scorching temperatures, a different weather challenge unfolds in parts of South America. Southern Peru, in particular, finds itself in the grip of a prolonged and perilous cold spell. This unseasonable chill, combined with a severe drought, has led to a devastating toll on the region's livestock. Over two thousand animals, including llamas and alpacas, have perished as a result of the harsh winter conditions.
