According to Islamic rules, able Muslims are expected to buy a sheep, goat, cow or camel for Eid Al Adha, take a third of the meat and donate the rest to the needy in society. But global geopolitical instabilities have seen the prices of livestock and other basic goods shoot up, preventing many Egyptians from fulfilling this duty. Mohamed, an engineer in Cairo says affording the cost of this Eid's "sacrifice" as Muslims refer to it, hasn't been easy this time round.
