There is growing concern over the activities of cults and fringe religious groups in African countries. Attempts to regulate such groups often face push back over religious freedom. Recently in Uganda, more than 150 members of a fringe Christian group were repatriated back home from Ethiopia. The believers had been convinced to travel to Ethiopia where they would "meet Jesus Christ".
