Uganda Announces Construction of Modern Railway Line

Uganda says it plans to start building its Standard Gauge Railway in September this year. The modern railway project is expected to lower the cost of transport services for both cargo and passengers. The 273-kilometer line will connect Uganda's capital Kampala to the Malaba border, where it is expected to link with Kenya's own Standard Gauge Railway.
