Ndovu Ni Kuu Song Deleted from YouTube After Gaining Three Million Views

Netizens at large woke up to the disappointing news that the song NDOVU NI KUU by Krispah Ndovu Kuu which featured Khaligraph Jones and Boutross Munene had been pulled down from YouTube. Since the song hit air waves it performed really well gaining over three million views in just three months.
The three major reasons why a song can be deleted from YouTube are; copyright infringement, airing of inappropriate content and violating the YouTube terms of service. The most common one being copyright infringement which is basically using another person’s content without permission.
Krispah’s song was apparently pulled down because an upcoming artist known as Dexta claimed that Krispah sampled his beat. Dexta also claims that the song has stained the reputation of Kenyatta University to an extent where parents are failing to pay fees for students
‘’I didn’t mean to be rude my people. KHALIGRAPH and Krispah sampled my beat of the song v8 ndo wakaunda hakuna masomo ku wamekataa. Nmeitoa You Tube because it is infringing my rights and also it has promoted violence in Kenyatta university. Hata mzazi halipi fee juu wanasema hakuna masomo ku. leta meet in court if you have an issue.’’ (sic)
This move has really angered the ndovu ni kuu artist as he claimed he listened to the song and he did not find any similarity. Krispah has promised not to let this slide as he together with his management are planning to take legal action.
Gengetone artist Exray has come out to condemn the issue strongly and advised upcoming artists to avoid clout chasing through malicious means. Exray advised upcoming artists to avoid flagging other people’s songs without valid claims as it would bite back and destroy their careers instead.
