Over the weekend the CEO of the Kenya Films and Classifications Board found himself on the wrong side of netizens after claiming that Eric Omondi and other artists are poor and struggling. He said this after being informed that Eric Omondi paid Bahati the two hundred thousand shillings’ worth of sponsorship that the KFCB canceled.

‘’Hakuna pesa alitoa, Omondi ni maskini bana, hio ni sarakasi tu za kujionyesha .Hakuna pesa, ziliwekwa kwa akaunti gani kama ni za kweli. Wanakujanga kufanya hizi sarakasi waonyeshe wanakejeli serekali lakini hakuna pesa ya kweli .Hawa watu wote ni maskini wa kusaidiwa.’’

According to Ezekiel Mutua it was all a show and that is what leads the artists into depression. According to him the whole industry is not making money and as such the artist do these stunts to show that they are okay

‘’Hizi sarakasi ndio zinawafanya waende into depression when they try to play rich kuonyesha wako sawa na hawako sawa…We have their records and accounts we know how they operate and who is making money…. If the whole industry is not making money…’’

These words did not sit well with the comedian who felt that the KFCB CEO was being disrespectful. He claimed that he makes his money through hard work and sweat while Ezekiel Mutua makes his money through misappropriation of public funds.

‘’ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!! We have to stop this NONSENSE!!! All the money I make is through blood and Sweat, most of the money you make is through Misappropriation of Public funds. Kama mimi ni Maskini basi wewe ni MWIZI, wa PESA za Serikali.

You promised @mulamwah only to withdraw at the last minute, then you did the same with @bahatikenya only to let him down on the day of his event I had to come through for him like a true brother, but you are a pathological liar Daktari.

I am currently in Dar Es Salaam about to make HISTORY by filling up the NATIONAL STADIUM and making money while at it. I promise you by the time I land back in Kenya I will ensure you are not occupying that office by September, juu you cannot call an entire industry MASKINI ambao hawajiwezi. Hawa ni Vijana ambao wanajituma ili wapate chakula. ENOUGH!!!’’
