Media personality Felix Odiwour aka Jalango has revealed his interest in politics. Speaking in an interview at a local TV Station, he stated that he will be vying for the Langata Parliamentary seat in the coming general elections. The radio presenter reveled this a few weeks after a meeting with His Excellency the Deputy President, William Ruto together with other entertainers at the DP's Karen residence.
His revelation is one of the many made by entertainers who have suddenly shown interest in politics and leadership. Blogger Author Mandela aka Xtian Dela has most recently also revealed his interest in the Westlands Parliamentary seat, raising questions as to why entertainers have suddenly decided to venture into politics.
The presenter’s first shot at politics was when he wanted to become a governor in Siaya but he soon backed down after he realized his opponent was stronger than he anticipated. Jalango expressed confidence in his victory and urged the youth to register as voters in Langata so as to build a new Langata.
‘’naenda kukua MP wa langata vijana mbalilishe kura mkuje tujenge Langata mpya ‘’

The current member of parliament for Langata is Nixon Kiprotich Korir who is the former Secretary Youth Affairs under the executive office of the President. The politician is famous for refuting the perception that in Kenya voting is always done along ethical lines. In his words…
‘’majority of people vote in tribal or party line, I can actually say that my election as mp for langata is a clear indication that these things are fading away.’’
