Akothee is the wealthiest musician in East and Central Africa

A recent list released by Forbes reveals that Esther Akoth, aka Akothee is the 15th wealthiest musician in Africa. The list which was highly dominated by West African Artists places Akothee on this position with a net worth of 10 million US dollars. She was the first East African artist to make the list and the only Kenyan. The only other east Africans to feature on the top thirty list are Bobi Wine with a net worth of 8 Million,, Chameleon with 6 Million and Diamond Platnumz 5.1Million. West Africans had sixteen entries in the list but what surprised many is the fact that Akothee's wealth surpassed certain renowned names in the region such us Banky W and Jidena who are classified as international sensations.
Diamond Platnumz, who came in at number 28, once claimed that West African artists pretend to have money when they are not wealthier that him.

His wealth is greatly attributed to his music and shares at Wasafi.
Akothee is an award-winning musician who has bagged awards such as the AFRIMMA – Best Female Artist (East Africa) 2016, AFRIMMA – Best video, African Entertainment Awards USA – Best Female Artist , AFRIMMA - Best female Artist in East Africa 2019 among other accolades . In her music, she has featured famous African stars such as Flavor, MC galaxy, and Diamond Platnumz. She is also said to own a tour company named Akothee safaris, apart from running a real estate company and a beach resort. Her music career and business ventures are what enabled her to amass such wealth.
As Kenyan's celebrated the iron lady's achievement, Self-proclaimed chairman of the Kenyan gospel industry, Ringtone Apoko had an opposite reaction to this. He has always described himself as the wealthiest Musician in East Africa but his name was nowhere on the list. He decided to make his own list in which his name came first and Akothee's third.
