Tobi of Maria TV Series Reveals That She's Not Kenyan

Linda Alexette is not a foreign name in the Kenya Entertainment Industry. Well known from Maria TV Series in which she played the character of Tobi, an unruly young girl with a violent mischievous behaviour. What many Kenyans don't know is that she is not Kenyan but Rwandese. Speaking on Switch TV Kenya's Chatspot, the brand influencer, and fashion icon revealed that she moved to Kenya about 5 years ago together with her twin sister Belinda to further their studies. Her Rwandese name is ‘Mukamirwa’.
Her long stay in Kenya enabled her to be fluent in Kiswahili something that saw her land a role in the popular series. Besides English and Kiswahili, she equally speaks Kinyarwanda.
Her acting career began when she together with her sister attended auditions hosted by media personalities Rashid Abdala and Lulu Hasan. Linda said that acting was originally not her thing due to her shy nature. Her character came with a lot of advantages because aside from being known as a thespian, she is now recognized as a role model, an inspirational speaker, and many other things. Being a celebrity comes with an overwhelming pressure and Linda’s popularity is no different. According to her, the key to controlling such pressure is the way one handles it.
“You just stick to you, to the person you know you are. You don’t let the pressure get into you, because it is so easy for people to get easily carried away by the fame and everything, and you just pray to God for guidance.” Linda said.
Linda says that, separating personal and public life is key. People only attack you in accordance to what you give them. This is one of the things she has learnt being the person she currently is.
Linda has also ventured into the world of content creation and through this has been working as a brand influencer brand influencer. According to her, client satisfaction is her major priority.
Having a twin sister can be an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. Linda shared how she has twice sat for exams disguised as her sister Belinda.
Currently, she is into YouTube content creation with Yasmin Saidd alias Maria after the first season of Maria came to an end.
