Omar Lali has been charged with the murder of Keroche Breweries heiress,Tecra Muigai.

A court in Lamu has charged Omar Lali with murder. Lali was the boyfriend of the late Keroche heiress and Director of strategy and Innovation Tecra Muigai.According to reports,Lali will be arraigned at the Garsen Law courts on Tuesday. Mr. Lali is the prme suspect in the death of the late Tecra. The Keroche heiress succumbed to an injury in her brain after she allegedly fell in the bathroom of the house she shared with the suspect.
Lali was arrested shortly after Ms Muigai passed on while receiving treatment at the Nairobi hospital. The 50 yearold Lali, spent 21 days in detention. Although he was released on 26May, the magistrate noted that his testimonies were inconsistent.
The detectives probing the matter reportedly picked inconsistencies in Omar’s account of how Tecra’s life ended.
Lali had been living at Shela in Lamu together with the Keroche Breweries strategy and innovations director since April. Initially he said that she stumbled down the stairs before later changing his account to say she tripped in the bathroom. Lali has however fully cooperated with the detectives that have been to the crime scene three times.
None of his versions of the events were consistent with the accounts given by responders who took Tecra to hospital.
There were reports that the couple had an argument before the fatal incident although Lali’s lawyers rejected the reports.
Tecra was airlifted to Nairobi for treatment by a helicopter hired by her family. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, May 2,2020 in the afternoon. Tecra maintained a low social profile unlike her elder sister Anerlisa Muigai.
