Kate Actress: "My mother in law did not accept me in the beginning because I was a Single mother."

Being a Single parent is not a walk in the park. However, being a single mother is an extreme sport. The stigma that comes with being a single mother is greatly felt. Women get judged harshly in any case scenario. Lots of women have had a difficult time in the dating scene simply because they have a child or even children. The struggle becomes more real when they finally get someone to settle down and it is time to be introduced to the man’s folks. Very few are lucky to be accepted into the family without struggles and heart aches.
Content creator Catherine Kamau , commonly known as Kate Actress revealed that her mother-in-law was not fully acceptant of her. She made the revelation On her YouTube channel during a cooking session with her best friend Faith Nyagi. Both Catherine and Faith got pregnant at a very young age and faced the stigma that came with being young single mothers. During the session they were tackling the challenges that are faced by single mothers and how they can tackle the challenges. Catherine Kamau has been an inspiration to lots of young and single mothers.Her reaalness and authenticity is one that many admire. She is honest with her story and her journey including the challenges she has faced.
Faith was among the very few that got accepted immediately after being introduced to her in-laws.
“It was not difficult so to speak. I got accepted very quickly but I know the stigma that comes together with you being first a mom and then now being introduced to a home. Again I want to say this again is not your battle. If the boy or the mom doesn’t support you are finished. You are fighting a losing battle. It is up to him and not you to convince his people. It is not your job to convince your in laws that you are a good person. It is the job of your man” Faith Nyagi said.
However, the internet sensation Catherine was among the unlucky many. She was not easily accepted because her husband is his mother’s favorite.
“For me I will say, it was not easy. You know he is his mom’s heart. For me I will not lie. It was not easy. His mother indirectly asked him why he was marrying a girl with a child yet he could get any man he wanted. I remember Phill told me when I saw the way you took care of Leonne. I knew you were the right woman. Even if something happened to me ,my kids would be fine. One thing I respect about my mom-in law is when it came to my son she was so neutral. She never showed my son any attitude. We had our differences but when it came to my child he was so innocent.” Mrs Karanja said.
Both actresses are now happily married and have since expanded their families.
