Rosemary Odinga: My family supported me.

Rose Mary Odinga is the true definition of resilience and determination. Miss Odinga is the daughter of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Mama Ida Odinga. The former politician put out details on how her sudden illness shook her life and shuttered her career. She stated that being unwell changed her whole perspective of life. Her sickness struck a few years after the death of Mr. Odinga’s eldest son Fidel Castro Odinga.

 

The mother of two stated at a local TV station that she could not thank her family enough for the support they showed her. Raila Jr and Winnie Odinga, her younger siblings took in her two daughter as she was getting well and trying to get accustomed to being blind.

 

The mother of two had started to build her career as a politician when the stroke hit her. She said that even though her family was still mourning the death of her brother Fidel, they sprung out to support her when the illness struck.

 

The absence of medical equipment led to RoseMary being treated in South Africa.

In 2017, she was on a work holiday and was set to address a Women’s leadership training. The night before she had an irritating headache but did not pay too much attention to it. In the morning she collapsed right before a lady that had gone to prepare her for the training.

 

She was later flown to Nairobi and diagnosed with brain tumor. She later went to south Africa for further intense treatment after slipping into a coma.

After recovery she was invited by the president of the United states together with His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta and her father for the Power Breakfast. During the interview she did not state her future political ambitions and plans. Rosemary is hopeful that Kenya will one day be a better country. She believes that she and her father subscribe to the same political ideologies and that is the ideology of Patriotism.

 

She is thankful for the over whelming support she got from her friends, family and Kenyans.
