Barely a week after her husband's death, a video has surfaced revealing strange details on Ruth Matete's troubled marriage. This video raises questions on the real cause of Pastor John Apewajoye's death.

They got married last year November in a colourful wedding that brought together two families of different origins; Kenya and Nigeria. Despite accusations of being a home wrecker, Ruth Matete defended her marriage to  Pastor Apewajoye who was previously married to a Nigerian woman. To many, they were happy in their young marriage...or were they?

In the video, a certain Jesse Ikoenaze, who identifies himself as Pastor Apewajoye's manager and close friend, claims that Ruth and John frequently argued and describes Ruth as a violent woman. He tells of an incident where they had a fight and Ruth stabbed her husband almost killing him. John had to beat Ruth and lock her outside to protect himself. He later explained to the manager that fights with Ruth were things he had been managing with and God had given him the strength to.

Jesse states that during this argument, Ruth asked him to advice John to go back to Nigeria because she was done with the marriage, otherwise It would look like an accident'.

"The other night when you guys had that fight while I was in Kenya, Ruth Matete, look so. You told me, 'tell your brother to go back to Nigeria because you are done with this marriage, or else if he doesn't go, it will look like an accident. I guess eventually this is the accident you were talking about. It didn't make sense then but now it makes sense" (sic)

Another thing revealed in the video is that Ruth was regularly in and out of rehab because she had psychological issues. This was one of the reasons why John wouldn't go back to Nigeria to see his children from his first marriage neither would he mention this to Ruth because it would upset her. Jesse reveals that Ruth mostly cared about what the media would say about her.

Jesse discloses that Ruth Matete shut them all out after the whole gas explosion incident that led to her husband being admitted in the hospital. When she finally decided to talk to the elder brother, she lied about the reason as to why her husband was rushed to the ICU, saying it's appendicitis. Later, she revealed that it was a gas explosion when she needed money for his surgery.

Jesse Ikoenaze finally highlights some of the things that don't add up in the 'gas explosion' story;

First of all, her husband had an accident but she didn't inform the family in Nigeria. Logically, family or friends are usually the first people contacted when a person is involved in a grisly accident such us the one Pastor Apewajoye had.

Secondly, why would you lie about the cause of your husband being rushed to the ICU, covering it up as appendicitis? The only time someone lies is when they have something to hide.

Then, Ruth Matete wasn't updating his family in Nigeria on his status per time until he passed on. Actually, most people came to know about the gas explosion incident after the husband died.

Jesse says that he has sent Ruth a message not to burry John before his body undergoes a postmortem. This is after he got messages from Ruth's Friends that they want to bury him. He adds that if John is buried before the real cause of his death is revealed, Nigerians will hold Kenyans responsible.

"It will mean that Nigerians are not safe in Kenya. That's what you guys are trying to say right now. And if that is, then too bad. If Africans cannot vouch for ourselves, is it what it's going to now become? That Kenyans are not welcome in our own country?"

The 17 minutes video titled Justice for BelovedJohn Apewajoye, raises so many questions that only Ruth Matete can answer. Jesse Ikoenaze states that he has evidence to back his claims; he even posts several screenshots of their conversations and claims to have an audio recording of the specific argument where Ruth stabs her husband.

This is however one side of the coin. Does Ruth have an explanation for all these allegations pointed towards her? Let's wait and see.
