Eliud Kipchoge raising the Kenyan Flag after his win

Following the win by the amazing Eliud Kipchoge, there have been mixed reactions by various people. Most of which have shown massive support while others have decided that the whole thing was rigged from the beginning.

American reporter, Darrel Rovell stated that Kipchoge’s Historic Run was all due to the 41 pacemakers, a laser, drinks being handed to him, an ideal course and the shoes. One may believe that he is actually an enemy of progress given the negative bile he kept on spewing on his twitter timeline.

He posted on his twitter timeline on October 13th and I quote

“When a shoe company puts multiple carbon plates in a shoe with a cushion between the plates, it is no longer a shoe. It’s a spring and a clear mechanical advantage,”

He received a lot of backlash from people from all walks of life. However, his result did not waiver as he still stood his ground stating that the INEOS team had attained to manufacture an artificial marathon record.

Trevor Noah speaks up

The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, dared the journalist to take the shoe and attempt to run if he indeed believed that Kipchoge’s win was advantaged by them.

"You know what, why don't you go get those shoes and show us how fast you are going to run the race? Go get the shoes!" he spoke

Trevor was very impressed by the race given that Kipchoge continued running even after the race was completed. He looked like he had just begun his warm-up.

He finished with a joke saying that it was not the shoes that helped Kipchoge win but instead it was Kipchoge, being a Kenyan, who helped carry the shoes to the finish line.
