I am running to make history…

His quest here is no ordinary marathon, rather it’s a challenge; to run a full marathon in under 2 hours. This event is dubbed #INEOS159. The venue of choice is Vienna, the beautiful Austrian capital.

It is important to note that this is not Eliud’s first attempt. He had a go at it back in 2017 in the North Italian city of Monza where he missed the mark by 26 Seconds having covered the distance in 02:00:25.

#INEOS159 is not just about winning, it’s about breaking a big psychological barrier; “a human being cannot cover the distance of a full marathon (42KM) in less than 2 hours”. The main theme of the race is that there are no limits, limits only exist in our minds.

Kipchoge is going on a limb by putting himself through the fire to emphasize; “There are no limits and no human is limited”.

How Inspiring!

Eliud Kipchoge, as you take on this one for mankind, the entire team here at Switch TV will be cheering you on, through the straights and around the corners, every step of the way.

Greatness comes to those that are courageous enough to seek it, may you achieve it Eliud.
