Motherhood is definitely one of humanity’s hardest tasks. While it can sometimes be thankless, the sense of fulfilment one gets is unrivalled. It is truly a show of how far human beings can sacrifice for those who matter the most.
In that vein, Kenyan Rapper King Kaka (Kennedy Ombima) today announced that he’d recently completed work on a brand new house – for his mother. The following was the post:
‘One day I came home from school and Kanjo had placed a Very Big padlock coz we couldn’t afford to pay Kshs 500 rent, I promised my mom that in the future I’ll buy her a house. Fast forward 4days ago we just prayed in the living room of this house that I build for her.’
‘The Sounds of a testimony and I am happy that she has a place she can call home. Thankyou mom for putting on a brave face over the years even when I knew things were not okay. Asante and Be blessed. To all the believers, It’s possible! And God is Love.’
In a heartfelt post he described how his mom could not afford to pay rent when he was young. Kshs. 500 was the figure quoted, with the notorious ‘Kanjo’ being the Evil Step-Mother in King Kaka’s Cinderella story.
The hit-maker has built his public image in the form of a philanthropist, entrepreneur and industry leader.
