She said that 2021 was the year of restoration. Well, so much was restored in her life but she crossed over to 2022 single and searching. Singer Justina Syokau is not a foreign name in the Kenyan Gospel Industry. This is a musician that came to light with her popular New Year songs that she drops with a message of hope for each year.
Justina was previously married to a man she thought was 'prince charming'. In 2012, she said I do to the man of her dreams but the marriage never made it to forever. Her husband turned abusive both physically and emotionally, and even cheated on her with their house help before throwing Justina out of their matrimonial home. She found love in the church where she discovered her talent and decided to pursue her musical career. Years later and with lots of success, Justina is ready to give love another chance.
In an interview with a local TV Station, Justina stated that she was ready to walk down the aisle once again. In fact, she had been hoping that 2021 would be the year for that. This was however not the case since she faced many hardships in the year with the pandemic being the major obstacle.
She is beautiful, curvy, outspoken, funny, motivated…she is so many things; why is she single? Well, according to Justina, the pandemic has played a big role in this. She says that wearing facemasks meant covering her face and in this case, preventing people from seeing how beautiful she is, and the lockdown that was placed for a while in the country meant that she was to remain in-doors. How would suitable men see her beautiful curves?
Justina has however declared that 2022 is her year. She has in the past made it clear that she wants a man who is mature and understanding. The ideal age for her is above 35, he must be God-fearing and good in bed. She wants a man who is financially stable and can afford to maintain her. She has been quoted saying…
"Whether a mzungu or African, as long as he is financially stable and a bedroom bully I am okay. Over 60 hatawezana na job… Old men are the best. They don't come with stress compared to young men. Most of these (young) men are very lazy and don't like responsibilities. I want a generous man, not a stingy one. When you don't have money you are rendered useless. When you don't have money, there will be no peace in that relationship. Whoever said money is the root of all evil, it becomes so when it is used badly.”
The musician has shown interest in controversial gospel artist, Ringtone Alex Apoko, let’s hope the feeling is mutual. As of 2022, who knows? There could be a new gospel couple in town giving the Wa’Jesus a run for their money…
