In northwest China's Qinghai Province, herders have begun shearing sheep to prepare them for the summer heat. The process involves tying the sheep's feet together and using large shears to quickly remove about a kilogram of wool, which is then collected in sacks for sale. Hundreds of sheep are being shorn daily, with expectations that over one million will be sheared by the end of summer. This annual ritual helps ensure the animals remain comfortable during the warmer months.
