Former president Mwai Kibaki has been admitted again at Nairobi hospital. Mzee Kibaki who was discharged from the facility less than two weeks ago was re-admitted Monday at the VIP wing of the hospital and he is currently receiving treatment.

Though his family has not come out to talk about the health of the former head of state, a source within the hospital told a local newspaper that the third president of the republic of Kenya was receiving treatment for the same illness he had been admitted for the last time.

“Mzee is around being taken care of by his doctors. He has undergone several tests once again to try establish what could be the cause of the much pain he is in.”  The source said.

In June this year, the development oriented president was admitted at the city hospital and was treated for what was said to be ‘severe pain in the lower abdomen’. He was later discharged to recuperate at home.

During his reign as the head of state, he saw the country take huge developmental steps including creation of the Constituency Development Funds, Thika-super highway as well as the 2010 constitution among others.

His rule lasted 10 years and the positive impacts he had on the economy were greatly felt after his exit in 2013. Kibaki has maintained a low profile. The last time he was seen in public was during the body viewing of former president Moi at the parliament buildings in February this year.

He has served in both the Kenyatta and Moi regimes and is undeniably one of Kenya’s true country’s men.

We wish him quick recovery,
