South African hip hop star Sho Madjozi is now an online sensation in Kenya after joining forces with Tanzanian rapper Darassa, in a new hit song labelled “I Like It”.

The 27 year old released the new song on Tuesday, 25th February 2020. Madjozi used Swahili in almost the whole song. The song has over half a million views on YouTube in just 3 days, and still counting.

Thanks to its strong punchlines, incredible beats fused with some Afro beats, and well-arranged Swahili lines, the song is gearing popularity among netizens.

Sho Madjozi’s collaboration with Tanzanian artiste Darassa has shown her diversity in creating music. The song is a hit majorly done in Swahili with both artists giving amazing lyrics about love.

Sho’s style of playing around with colours is majorly evident in the hit bringing out an amazing energy. The video quality is great with Sho Madjozi bringing out that colour variety and vibrancy to it.

The music video is premised on the two being a couple, detailing their love journey. It entails lovers who are head over heels in love with each other, keep complementing one another and sharing how they would give everything in the world for one another. The two artists took the characters of the said lovers.

Sho Madjozi became a force to be reckoned with when ever since she released her hit song ‘John Cena’, also majorly done in Swahili. The song gained over 200,000 views in the first 48 hours of its premier and also got awarded great reviews on social media. It also saw the singer become a household name in Kenya and South Africa.

Sho has been able to perform the hit song (John Cena), at international events such as the Super Bowl Liv and also at TV shows such as the Kelly Clerkson show where she was surprised by none other than John Cena.

It attracted attention of the WWE wrestler, John Cena, whom she named the song after. While performing, John Cena secretly joined behind her and started dancing behind her.

Her success did not stop there as she recently became the fourth South African artist to win a B.E.T Award for Best New International Act and the superstar made history as the first female South African to win a B.E.T.
