Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you drive in

We have to give credit where it is due. In recent weeks, Globe-trotting Kenyans have been flying our flag high across different parts of the world and it would be unfair to let it go unnoticed. At Switch TV it’s not just about entertainment, we love to inspire and more so the youth. They too can reach for the stars.

Stars of the month.

Oh my! We start with Muthoni Ndonga alias Muthoni drummer queen. The phenomenal woman has been up to big things. Her consistency, team spirit and hard work have been rewarded; she just came back from been part of the main acts during the 2019 Vieilles Charrues Festival. The annual July event is held in the City of Carhaix, France and attracts multi-genre attendees with a keen interest in setting up and managing restaurants.

The drummer queen is currently on her #Shetour19 which will include performances in different parts of the world this summer; to say she is raising the bar high would be an understatement. She performed to a crowd of more than 25,000 people bringing the roof down literally accompanied by her long-time Swiss collaborators Jean 'Hook' Geissbuhler and Greg 'GRBeats' Escoffey. She even had the chance to chill with Will from the group “Black eyed peas”. Muthoni, we hope to see him or even better the group here for the 11th year anniversary of the Blanket and wines.

Shine on star!

Sauti sol is another group that consistently do us proud as a country on the global scene; from headlining The Hague African Festival in Netherlands which celebrates music and cultural events for African lovers to performing at the Essence Magazine Festival in the US. The group has also travelled to Belgium for the Afro Latino Festival.

Other notable shining Kenyan stars include Victoria Kimani who is currently in California promoting her apparel line christened Kimani Couture which we hear is epic and nothing short of Kenyan culture. Part of the collection are Maasai themed bubble jackets; need we say more? Speaking of clothing brands, Brenda Wairimu’s little Baby brendish is on the rise with all shades of grey in there, Love! Love! Love! She was recently in Germany attending the Emden International Film Festival for her role in the film Subira. Though they did not win any awards, they did get enough attention to keep the conversation going.

In other news Brenda will be gracing your screens soon on Switch TV with a fresh, new project “Monica” an exciting drama series. Keep tuned to Switch TV, You’ll love it!
