The governor continued to say how they shared stories of their success journeys and even informed netizens that Otile was working on a music video with Tanzanian artist Darasa. Alfred Mutua claimed that he will support him and other artist, Kenyan and east African as a whole and stated that he believes in the financial growth of artists.
‘’I had a wonderful time interacting with one of Kenya’s successful and talented music artists Otile Brown. We shared jokes, aspirations and mambo ya maisha. I got to learn of his humble beginnings and his quest to do well.
He is currently completing a video of his new song which features Tanzanian singer Darasa. The sky is the limit. I will support him and other Kenyan and East African artists grow and also ensure they receive their dues. As a filmmakers and supporter of the arts, I am a believer in the financial growth of artists. Btw, Otile has a very grand official sounding name with the initials: J.J.O.A. na ukitaka pia B. @otilebrown’’
These comments did not sit well with the Otile Brown who refuted claims that they were even friends. The artist cautioned him against using him for his fame and clarified that they did not discuss anything.
‘’Don’t try riding on my lil wave…I’m not with that BS…we ain’t friends, we ain’t discuss nothing…you ask for a pic and that’s all…I wonder’’ (sic)
‘’I had a great time with talented Tanzanian artist Rayvanny (Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa) who was born at the southern tip of Tanzania in Mbeya.
Rayvanny - Chui - and I share a birthday (August 22nd) and we spent an afternoon singing and talking of our childhood(s), aspirations and how we can work together to consolidate and grow the talents of East African music.
Although he is in the WASAFI stable, Rayvanny has his own Studio - Next Level Music (NLM) which he is using to record and support the growth of upcoming East African music artists, mostly from Kenya and Tanzania.
We agreed to partner in a few ventures as we grow the arts. I will soon be unveiling a Fresh initiative to empower talented film and music artists.
As a lover of the arts and one who believes in the power of music and entertainment, I am excited about working with artists as they bring melody and vibe to our lives. @rayvanny’’
Do you think this is another publicity stunt or is Governor Alfred Mutua actually planning to work with musicians and other artists?
