Renowned music star Victoria Kimani has finally poured her heart on social media criticizing the fact that Kenyans have a habit of discouraging people, more so the ones who appear to be succeeding beyond the Kenyan Borders. According to her, Kenyans always try to bring down their own rather than give them the support they deserve. She shared how Kenyans unfairly treated her the moment she began making music in Nigeria, with others talking about how she would fail.

“I remember when a few Kenyans wrote me off for working elsewhere, the same way they are doing to Lupita Nyong'o and Elsa Majimbo. Just say you all hate Kenyan women who win outside of Kenya despite the never-ending shade and lack of support from home and go. We still love you, even though you stay mad.'' She tweeted.

Many people were attracted to her post and genuinely asked who she was, claiming that her music is not that known in Kenya. The China love songstress could not just let this question go unanswered.

“You do not know me? Read about me and my work on Grammy.com.'' The singer responded.

Several comments were left on her post, others saying the singer was trying to sneak into Lupita and Majimbo’s list because she wouldn’t be noticed. Others said that there is a difference between having a talent and forcing one since many artists are thriving in Kenya without necessarily having to go try out their luck beyond the border.

Other people supported her saying that Kenyans are jealous folks who could have done nothing but waste her talent.

In her song ‘Party Like a Moda’, Victoria conveyed her message to Kenyans suggesting that their comprehension to support their own was limited. She went ahead to say that she would prefer being a Ghanaian than come from Kenya.
