It seems like the controversial Arsenal player Mesut Ozil is very active off the pitch. The star Midfielder was frozen out of the Arsenal squad this 2020/21 season with seemingly no explanation from the coach, Mikel Arteta.

The 32-year-old German has instead turned to business as he recently announced his new streetwear clothing line named “M10 Streetwear”. Ozil made the announcement on his Twitter and Instagram accounts saying;

‘Excited to announce the launch of @m10streetwear, a contemporary brand producing relaxed & stylish clothing designed for everyday wear. I'm really happy to finally share this personal project with you all.’

The leisurewear clothing brand offers caps, hoodies, t-shirts and accessories including phone cases, backpacks and waist bags. Ozil posted pictures modelling the different items his clothing line offers on his Instagram account.Ozil modeling his new clothing line

Arsenal fans are furious because of his absence, as his skills are clearly what their team lacks at the moment. While Ozil still attends training sessions with the squad, he is not registered in the official Premier League or Europa League team so he can’t feature in a game. Despite that he is still the highest paid player in the club at a whopping KSH. 50M per week.

The retired German international and 2014 World Cup winner seems to have turned his attention not only to business, but also to helping others. Ozil had reportedly offered to help Arsenal pay their team mascot, (Gunnersaurus) Jerry Quy’s salary, after the club had declared him redundant in a staff cut-down exercise. However, Jerry gets to keep his job as Arsenal announced earlier this week that he is back on the field.

Mesut has also reportedly partnered with American entrepreneurial funding organization, ‘Capital 5’ as a strategic adviser. Most recently, he has come to the support of Arsenal teammate Aubameyang, after his celebration style was criticized by German footballer, Toni Kroos. Kroos said in a podcast that Auba’s mask celebrations are “nonsensical”. Ozil today posted the very celebration on his Twitter account saying that it is one of his favourite.

As the Arsenal fans like calling him the ‘King of Assists’, he truly seems like he assists on and off the field. However, the question remains, will the Arsenal fans ever see him on the field in an Arsenal shirt again? Only time will tell.
