Society has been terribly tough on men with the judgement inflicted on them being way too harsh. Women often generalize men using the statement “all men are the same”. While it may be true, depending on the type of men that one has interacted with, it is wrong to judge every man you meet based on awful past experiences.
Robert Burale, a relationship expert and men’s counsellor, shared his sentiments on this 'good men bad men', debate on Full Circle with Joyce. The first thing that Robert pointed out is women’s perception of men. If a woman does not believe that there are good men out there, she will constantly look for negative aspects in every man she meets. This mindset then makes her overlook the good in the good men she meets. Some men have obviously helped women paint this wack perception. Even so, women need to take a chill pill and give the men they meets the benefit of the doubt.
Being a good and understanding woman, helps bring out the good in your man. Let your man feel safe with and around you. Always lend a listening ear. Men face a lot of pressure; the society has reduced them to robots. They are expected to not show emotions or pain but be super heroes . Don’t make him wear the same cap at home or around you. When your man becomes vulnerable with you, be careful to never use it against them. Be your man’s safe space.
Take a look at celebrity couple Njugush and Wakavinye. Wakavinye understood that Timothy Kimani alias Njugush had no money to even cater for their honey moon. She was his safe space and their marriage is now blossoming. Njugush is what society would deem as a good man.
