Singer Meg C says she has Coronavirus.

Last week songstress Yisriya Salim popularly known as Meg C in a social media post, claimed that she has been isolated at the Kenya-Tanzania border halting her trip back to Nairobi.

The Nipe hit maker was coming back home from Tanzania when she was flagged off with a suspected Covid-19 infection at the Kenyan-Tanzanian boarder. According to a video shared on social media, the songstress said she was verbally attacked by a passenger who kept insisting she has Coronavirus.

"I was quarantined because I am coughing a lot and my temperature was a little bit high. I am now in isolation here at the border waiting for the doctors. I am living in fear, but I know and hope I am not infected with the virus. Don't call me selfish because I could have chosen to stay at home, but I couldn't for I have to hustle for my kids," she said.

Back in the music industry

Singer Meg C who was quite popular back in the day seems to be slowly finding her way back into the entertainment industry.

Back in 2013 she made headlines with her hit song ‘Nipe’ that was not only an anthem to the old but also to the young. However, after the song went viral the lady disappeared and word has it that at this point she had already become someone’s wife and needed to leave her career behind for some family time.

7 years later, the lass is back to reclaim her throne in the music industry.

Just a day after dominating trending chats over her alleged attack, she dropped a song. Turns out, the singer was busy clout chasing to promote her new song dubbed ‘Infinity’.

A spot-check on her Instagram page also shows that the singer is not in an isolation facility as she had earlier claimed. She may not even be in the country, to begin with. The song has garnered over 2k views on streaming platform YouTube.

So with the views on her latest jam, was it worth using a global pandemic to promote it?

Living large

The mother of two is said to be dating Tanzanian singer Country Boy. Looking at her photos on Instagram, it is clear to see that she has managed to pick herself up, years after her husband passed on, and is now a big shot living in Qatar!

It is said that the two have been together for close to six months and their love seems to be blossoming. The Tanzanian man seems to be head over heels in love with Meg C and has been funding her lifestyle.

Meg C was recently in Qatar with her bongo lover, to shop for a top of range car, an Aston Martin Vantage 2019 model that was used in James Bond’s latest movie. The car is valued at Sh15 million excluding any respective shipping fees and taxes.

They will be saying ‘I do’ in two months’ time.
