Jowie is back in the limelight again. This time round it all about his triumphant return to social media. It doesn’t end there; he is using his official names Kush Irungu.

Joseph Irungu alias Jowie first came to the limelight after proposing to the then girlfriend and TV journalist Jacque Maribe. Back in the day he went by the name Jowie.Joe on Instagram an identity he maintained until his release from prison.

Jowie’s middle name is Kuria, which he might have shortened to Kush.

Fresh new start…

Jowie has also made change to his account with the most notable being the switch to make it private and thereby limiting those who can see his posts and what he is up to. The changes come less than a week after he was released from jail.

The account has 27.9k followers and only follows 284 persons. Gone are most of his many posts, only16 remain.

Here’s a man who is looking for a fresh new start.

Released on bail…

The 29-year-old was the key suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani. Her body was discovered at her Kileleshwa home back in September 2018. He had been in custody until high court judge James Wakianga ruled to grant him a Kshs 2 Million cash bail in February 13th 2020. The sum proved too high for him to raise and required an online fundraising initiative by family and friends. He was finally a free man last week on March 11th.

The judge further constrained Jowie from commenting on the case on social media and from getting into contact with the witnesses. He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents to the court and to report to his local chief every once a month. This brought to an end a stint of almost 2 years behind bars.
