When we make mistakes, when we do not know our purpose in life, when we feel lonely and are in pain that just won’t go away… It gets overwhelming and some people opt for suicide. Why is this the case? Can we prevent it? What about those left behind?
The trauma: we were present, they still left
Once our loved ones are gone, those left behind are not in a good state. They may overthink the situation and a series of questions start to pop. Others end up contemplating suicide in the long run. Guilt slowly takes the better part of them.
The traumatic experience starts when the body has been discovered. The affected are those involved with the suicidal person or the incident in one way or another. These could be medical practitioners, police, pastors, friends and families of the bereaved.
Mourning a person who is still present
This is even harder for those around the suicidal individual. What happens is these people have already attempted suicide a few times. One is in constant fear, not knowing the hour they actually succeed in taking their own lives.
“They were at a place that there was nothing you could have done; you did the best you could”

“Mental illness is actually invisible”
It sounds effortless to identify a person who wishes to take their own life but in reality, it is harder than it seems. Even so, we can still tell a few signs that could indicate a possibility.
According to Doctor Fridah Kameti, a guest on FULL CIRCLE, this is how to tell when a person is disturbed …
Before it gets to suicide…
